KAIST Scholarship is a financial aid program for international students. Awardees are chosen based on their past achievements and future potential shown in their application. The results will be announced along with the final decisions.

  • Full Tuition Coverage:
    • Master’s students: Up to 4 semesters.
    • Master’s-Ph.D. Integrated students: Up to 10 semesters.
    • Ph.D. students: Up to 8 semesters.
  • Monthly Stipend:
    • The KAIST Scholarship includes a monthly stipend, helping many international students achieve financial independence. The stipend amount varies based on department, program, advisor, or research involvement. For more details, please contact the relevant department/program staff or your intended advisor.
  • National Health Insurance:
    • Coverage for the actual costs of National Health Insurance premiums.

Eligibility Criteria for taking admission in KIAST

  1. Applicants must hold, or are expected to hold, the following academic degree from an accredited institution by the end of February 2025:a. For Master’s or Master’s-Ph.D. Integrated programs: a Bachelor’s degree or higherb. For Doctoral programs: a Master’s degree or higher
  2. ▫ Applicants must NOT hold Korean citizenship.
  3. English Lecture Certificate
  4. Acceptance Letter from Academic advisor at KIAST of your relevant area of interest.

  1. Three Steps of Application: (1) Contact professors in KAIST and obtain their consent in email [Note: Do not ask professors for acceptance letter. Its not needed neither you will get it, (2) Fill online application and pay the application fee, (3) Print the filled application and send it to KAIST alongside normal attested photocopies of academic documents and reference letters.

    How to find professors: For example you want to find professors in Chemical Engineering Department, then simply type in Google as KAIST Chemical Engineering, you will be directed to KAIST’s Webpage for Chemical Engineering. Same goes for other fields of studies.
    Important: Please note that KAIST does not offer scholarships for Management Sciences and Humanities fields.
